The Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards

The Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards are universally recognised as the New Zealand building industry’s most prestigious accolades. Entry to the annual competition is open to Registered Master Builders nationwide and the competition itself is fiercely competitive.

Quality Marks

In recognition of excellent building work, all entries in the awards competition that are judged to be at least 50% quality above building industry standards are awarded a Quality Mark.

• Bronze Awards are awarded to builders whose entries are judged to be at least 50% higher than industry standard and score 75% of the available points during judging.
• Silver Awards are awarded to builders whose entries are judged to be at least 65% higher than industry standard and achieve 82.5% of the available points during judging.
• Gold Awards are awarded to builders whose entries are judged to be at least 80% higher than industry standard and achieve 90% of the available points during judging.

Regional judging is followed by the top 100 National Gold Award winners proceeding on to National Gold Reserve Award status. These homes are then judged again by a new national judging panel. After this, the Gold Reserve builders head to the National Gala in Auckland at which the National Category titles and Supreme Awards are announced.
