Peter Strong’s brief when he wanted a new home built was a low-maintenance home that was “ a little bit different” with high ceilings, to create “spaciousness and a lovely feeling of height.”
Once he had the completed concept plan from the architect Peter discussed building companies and Benchmark Homes was mentioned. Peter knew director Richard Evans, which gave him increased confidence.
“We knew each other from cycling, and when we were biking back from Sumner one day we chatted about my house and Richard came home with me that afternoon to look at my plans and my section,” says Peter. “I never approached another building company and we just went from there.”
Peter says right from the word go the building process was an enjoyable one. “The entire team was easy and approachable to deal with, from Richard Evans with the initial discussions, the Project Manager and the builder, Peter Stringer. They were all happy to answer my questions during my regular on-site visits during construction.”
